Izelle’s paternal great-great-grandfather on the du Plessis line — Marthinus Petrus du Plessis’s father. Married Louisa Johanna Susanna Koen at Hopetown in 1866 and raised thirteen children with her; Marthinus (b. 1878, Swellendam) is the one connecting to Izelle’s branch.
Two more rungs up the line remain untraced. The middle generations between Herklaas and the noble Huguenot stamvader Jean Prieur du Plessis (1638 Poitiers; Oosterland 1688) are not yet documented on this site.
