I saw you standing at my edge
I heard you pray me whole
your hands willed me together
your words captured my soul

Patiently you painted love
but I was colour blind
yet, you found life in me
and you were my life's find

I heard your tears raising me up
I heard your tears raising me up
I felt your dreams pull me up straight
I felt your dreams pull me up straight
I chose to take an easier way
too comfortable to meet my fate

Patiently you painted love
still I was colour blind
you kept finding life in me
you remained my life's best find
you remained my life's best find

For far too long I shut my eyes
For far too long I shut my eyes
ashamed to give beauty a glance
life deafened me to your peaceful song
my heart too corrupt to embrace the dance
my heart too corrupt to embrace the dance

Surprisingly you're still painting love
Stubbornly I'm colour blind
you’re fighting for the life in me
you’re fighting for the life in me
I'm amazed you're still a life to find

I find you trying to mend your heart
I keep offering better glue
I try to drain your drowning waters
I try to drain your drowning waters
All you need is for me to swim with you

I wish to paint our poppies
I want to make art with you
I want to make art with you
I thirst to drink from the living spring
I pray all my colours shine through

Reassuringly you paint our love
colours and sound abound
I delight: you are the life in me
and in you, I'm finally found
and in you, I'm finally found
