Only four when I saw
A god fly across a screen
Saving people
With ice from his breath
Killing monsters
With optic laser beams

This is what I learnt that day...

Heroes are built to always be lonely
Heroes must seem to be all right
Heroes draw strength from impossible places
Heroes don't back down from a fight

Just a small tender boy
When I had my faith destroyed
By a horny evil monster
At a place meant for learning
It instead taught me lies
Gave me sins, fuelled my burning

Here's the lesson I received...

Heroes are sent to save even their parents
Heroes don't belong anywhere
Heroes aren't meant to need any saviours
Heroes aren't allowed any desperate prayers

Becoming a man
I regressed to the child
Confused my first love
For the saviour I craved
Never rose as the hero
Just could not feel saved

This I kept teaching myself...

Heroes succeed by being mysterious
Heroes should lead a double life
Heroes owe no one an honest answer
Heroes are justified lying to their wife

It's tough being a hero...man up!
