Izelle’s paternal grandmother. Born 16 December 1915 at Petrusburg, Orange Free State, the fourth of twelve children of David Jacobus Meades × Maria Dorothea Petronella van Tonder. Died 15 December 2000 — one day before her 85th birthday.
She was 35 at her wedding in Koffiefontein in May 1951; the register records her occupation as huisvrou and her residence as Bayley Straat. She takes her given names straight from her grandmother, Francina Carolina Scholtz (1861–1930) — the Meades–Scholtz couple who married at Dutoit’s Pan in 1883.
Her Meades and van Tonder ancestry opens up a whole line of Izelle’s paternal-grandmother side — the Meades line — with four generations documented back into the Cape Colony diamond fields.

Same year, same province, both couples: 5 May 1951 Koffiefontein (du Plessis × Meades) and 29 December 1951 Verkeerdevlei (Tait × Duvenage). Without those two OFS weddings, the daughters' side of the family does not exist.
Izelle's Meades-line great-great-grandparents were married on 17 September 1883 at Dutoit's Pan — one of the alluvial-diamond diggings that had by then grown into the town of Kimberley. Their granddaughter Francina Meades inherited her grandmother's full given names.
